In the last week, several members approached KCDOA and asked if they should have received shift differential pay while they were off work on 4850 status. When initially questioned, payroll indicated “no”. However, after some research by KCDOA and our legal counsel, The department has reversed their position and is beginning to correct the errors. It is our understanding this also applies to special pays (SERT, availability pay, etc.) as well.
