The KCDOA Board of Directors has been advised that the transition from 12 to 8 hour shifts may have been done improperly. As a result, KCDOA has formally notified the Sheriff’s Office and the CAO’s office about the issue and has requested that discussions begin to address the situation. KCDOA understands the financial situation facing the Sheriff’s Office and the County and has acted on this issue to ensure that any changes to your wages, hours, and working conditions are made in a proper manner. This action was taken, not in an effort to complicate budgetary concerns, but rather because the association has an obligation to protect the interests of it’s members.
