The agenda for the Board of Supervisors PM session next Tuesday, February 15th (1400 hours) includes a County proposed declaration of impasse in the negotiation proceedings with KCDOA. Impasse declarations are also set to be declared with KLEA and KCFFU (Fire). KCDOA negotiators do not agree that negotiations have reached an impasse as noted in the CAO’s letter to the Board.

Also before the board next Tuesday is a mid-year budget update which seeks to continue the declared fiscal emergency, outlines increased retirement costs ($13 million dollars more from the County and 6+% more from safety member contributions), calls for the health benefit rate to remain unchanged, and is calling for departmental budget reductions ranging from 5% to 20% lower than last year.
