Now that the County has declared an impasse with KCDOA in contract negotiations, KCDOA has requested “fact finding” to resolve disputed facts. Fact finding, much like mediation, is facilitated by an independent arbitrator (usually) provided by the California State Mediation and Conciliation Service. The provision for fact finding is outlined in the County’s EERR (Employer-Employee Relations Resolution) document.
In other contract negotiation news, the Command Association has been called back for an additional mediation session with the County. SEIU has already participated in a second mediation which did not produce any resolutions.
